Mylene was a researcher at the Ada Lovelace Institute, working on ethical review processes for AI and data science research.

She  completed a PhD on the topic of the ethics of emotion recognition technology and the impact on human-machine configurations at Kingston University, which was jointly supervised by the Design and Computing Departments.

Prior to joining Ada, she was a guest lecturer in UX design at Kingston University focusing on design and prototyping emerging technologies. She has an MSc in Technology and Innovation Management from the University of Sussex. She brings experience in digital marketing and community management in the gaming industry, design research methodologies, Science and Technology Studies (STS) approaches and sociology.
