The Ada Lovelace Institute is a new initiative which aims to ensure that data and AI work for people and society. Ada will work at the intersection of research, policy, technology and public engagement, engaging stakeholders from across the public and private sectors, and ensuring that the development of new data driven technologies is informed by rigorous research into their societal and distributional impacts.
Salary: circa £30000
As a new organisation, Ada is in the process of building a small and diverse team of individuals with a wide variety of professional backgrounds in human rights, science, philosophy, law and software engineering. We are actively seeking to bring diverse ideas and identities into the Ada Lovelace Institute, and to explore novel and innovative ways of researching, influencing policy and engaging the public.
We are looking for an exceptionally organised, can-do individual to join Ada’s team, to undertake a wide variety of administrative tasks and develop Ada’s operational systems from scratch. Hosted within the Nuffield Foundation, Ada will be able to draw on support of Foundation staff and systems. Nevertheless, the post holder will be responsible for developing and implementing the administrative foundations that will enable Ada to be an effective and agile organisation, from fielding enquiries and managing diaries to assisting with event organisation and media and communications tasks.
The post holder must be willing to turn their hand to a wide variety of tasks, large and small, and relish the opportunity to be part of a start-up initiative. In an organisation working on cutting edge and fast-paced issues, the Executive Coordinator will be an integral part of a flexible team that will prioritise close collaboration, interdisciplinary approaches and dynamic ways of working.
